Dear Sawyer,
When you want to play with my hair, you stand behind me and say, "Can I make your hair?" When I say you can, you often hold my hair straight up in the air, giggle and say, "You're like Poppy!" (from Trolls) You're so cute!

Mom

Professional Hugger
Dear Sawyer,
Two sweet things you said today:
1) After you woke up from your nap, I asked you what you wanted to do. You said, "Cuddle." So we went back to your bed and did!
2) You were hanging out with me in the kitchen while I was chopping broccoli for dinner. You said, "Your job is to cook dinner. My job is to hug people." Then you gave me a big hug.
Never lose your sweetness!
Love,
Mom

Called Out
Dear Sawyer,
Your teacher invites parents, grandparents and older siblings to be "Mystery Readers," where they surprise your class and read a book to everyone. JieJie wants to be one, so I emailed your teacher to ask if she could go in next week. You asked me about it yesterday and I said your teacher hadn't emailed me back yet. When we saw her after school today, she told me that you had gone up to her in class this afternoon and said, "My mommy emailed you but you didn't email her back." We both thought it was hilarious that you had called out your teacher like that! Hahaha!

Medicine Man
Dear Sawyer,
Out of all my kids, you are the only one who asks for medicine! GuhGaw caught a viral infection a few days ago so he has been taking Advil and when you started coughing a little this morning, you asked, "Can I have cough medicine?" I told you to finish your breakfast first and as soon as you took the last bite, you called out, "Can I have cough medicine now?" And whenever I give you cough syrup, you always eagerly eat it right off the spoon. GuhGaw gags and insists I mix the medicine in orange juice but you love the flavor plain! That makes my job easier!

Mom

A Little Off the Top
Dear Sawyer,
You are in dire need of a haircut but I haven't had the time nor the desire to take you to the barbershop (temperatures have been and are going to continue to be bitterly cold so I just want to hibernate at home; ugh, winter). Your bangs have been constantly in your eyes, though, so I trimmed them tonight just to make you more comfortable. When you saw your trim in the mirror later tonight, you said, "I look brand-new." Aww! I asked you if you liked your new haircut and you said, "I like it but I don't like it." Huh? "I like seeing you but I don't like the style." Haha, I am no hair stylist so I don't blame you!

The Nose Knows
Dear Sawyer,
We ordered Szechuan food for dinner tonight and after Daddy took the bag from the delivery person, you came into the living room and told me, "Daddy bought Chinese food. I know because I 'mell that delicious China 'mell." Hahahaha! Good nose detective work!

Triple Laughs
Dear Sawyer,
Three times you made me laugh today:
1) I fell asleep after I turned off my alarm this morning (you were all off from school last week and it has been soooooo hard getting up before dawn this week) but you were awake and you came into my room and sternly told me, "Mommy, everybody is awake. You need to get up." And then you turned around and walked out of the room. Yes, sir!
2) Later on in the morning, you were using the bathroom and I was waiting in my room when you shouted, "Mommy! Did you hear that? I peed and pooped at the same time!" Haha, thank you for that news update!
3) We were looking at pictures you made at school yesterday. There was one that said "For Daddy," one that said "For Mommy," one "For Paw Paw" and a fourth "For Gong Gong." I asked you if you had told your teacher what Paw Paw and Gong Gong mean. You said, "Yes, and I also told Ms. Kiera that Paw Paw and Gong Gong fight a lot." Hahaha! There are no secrets when you have a toddler!

Mom
